Snow Park :D

Opening Day at Snow Park :D

I think it's most or every snowboarder who does freestyles dream to ride Snow Park so I was super excited to ride there, I'd got a season pass as was planning on riding there a lot which I did. Snow Park was the first to open before Cardrona and Treble Cone because they have a smaller area so got their snowmakers hard at work making snow covering the area for the jib section. I was stoked on hearing from Ben it was opening and headed up to shred opening day :) I experienced hitching a ride up to the mountains in NZ for the first time which is real easy as everyone does it although when there's a lot of hitchers at the hitching spot it does feel more like your waiting on a bus, haha!!

On first site of it it was just like I'd imagined it from seeing it in edits, etc and what I found was it had a real chilled out rad atmosphere, yeah you got all the pro's or real good riders there but there's something for everyone!! Everyone was real stoked on the set up and were saying it's one of the best they've had, features everywhere so really it was take your pick on what you wanted to hit!! The famous triple line soon got built up as we received some new snow fall, perfectly shaped jumps, I'd always dreamt of hitting the triple line so one day I sessioned the first jump in it which was 35ft, biggest jump I've hit I'd say, feeling comfortable on it I went for some grabs and got some nice feeling methods off it which I was stoked on, maybe a bit too stoked as I decided I wanted to spin off it so there I go heading into it and throw a backside 360, it felt soooo good in the air but I look down for landing as I start to over rotate it and realize I'm gonna knuckle it as I took off slightly too early killing the speed so bam I land and bounce backwards hitting my head and landing halfway down the landing, was pretty shook up by this but couldn't just leave it like that so hit it a few more times just doing grabs!!


Had some fun days riding up there with fellow lifties and with my house mates too. Night riding is pretty rad, just gotta watch as the landings and even run ins to the more popular features get real divited out making it harder to land stuff!! One day I went up to ride Jossi Wells was having his own private heli shoot in the pipe, he'd get skidoed up to the top and skidoed into the pipe for speed awesome to see.
