Scottish Indoor Freestyle Champs....

I decided to enter the Scottish Freestyle Champs on Saturday as like to enter comps as there fun seeing everyone who gathers for them and some gnarly shredding being thrown down and this one did not disappoint.

With a super sick park set up for it, mad props to the park crew an epic day was had by all. I got to head down on the Aberdeen Snowsports Club bus with all the kids who were entering which was cool, an early start leaving at 6am but the ride down passed quick everyone just a lil tired!! We hung around a bit then were allowed to collect our bibs and ride on the half of the slope that was open to public with a lil jump and box there as practice on the set up for the comp was not until 11:30!! I've only ever ridden indoors once years ago before I had ever ridden on snow and I remember hating it, but I loved it on Saturday oh how times change!!!!

I decided to play it fairly safe and picked out the run I would do as we had 2 judged runs. The reason being I leave for NZ a week on Monday and didn't want to do anything stupid which I am known for doing, haha!! So I 50/50 the side on gas pipe followed by a back 3 off the small jump followed by 50/50 to front 3 off the gas pipe cannon feature followed by a flat bar rail 50/50 back nose to switch out. Unfortunately I messed up on my landing off the gas pipe cannon going in with lots of speed to going big off, resulting in me over shooting the landing I tried to hold on to it as I land low in what feels like a massive tail press and from what I've been told looked like some mad break dancing ends up in a penguin slide but still manage to get up and hit the rail at the end, haha, well you gotta fall with style don't ya!! :)

I ended up coming 6th out of 10 female riders which I'm pretty stoked on and this has only made me even more excited than I already was for heading to NZ and all the tricks I want to learn, so many and so little time, haha!!!!

I also ended up taking care of poor wee Andy Budge as he was pretty ill but with some fresh air good chat and pizza he was feeling and looking a lot better, he really is one of the funniest dudes ever, I haven't laughed so much in a while!! All the kids killed it with it being a gnarlier set up than what they are used to riding they stepped up to it and did themselves proud. High 5's to them all :) Congrats to Grant Donald who came 3rd in mens ski and congrats to all the girls was a good turn out, the most I've seen at a Scottish comp so real good to see!!

A couple of photo's Taken by David Allen, please excuse my puffiness, I look like a fat ball with all my many layers, hahahaha!!
