Last weekend they held a big weekend up there with slalom races and mini freestyle comp and this past weekend held a bigger weekend with the same events on and with lot's more snow having fallen throughout the week it looked to be good conditions with the promise of nice weather!! So Katie Guthrie and I decided to head up and sure enough it was a bluebird day, no wind (which is unusual for Scotland) and some sweet pow to ride through just watching out for the occasional rock. The only thing that sucked was the lift lines as they say over 3000 people headed up there over the weekend, crazy, huh, I've never seen that many up there!!
We just cruised around all day bumping into different people we knew as everyone seemed to be up there not to miss out on an end of season Scottish shred. We went down the home run to the bottom of the mountain early on just to check it out and man it was funny, hoping over mini streams, scraping over gravel and rocks and splooshing through the wet heather while trying to stick to patches of snow, now it was like this after the first one but long lift lines drove us to ride down here twice more where there was less and less snow each time, hahahaha, we are crazy but we weirdly enjoyed that run!!!! Of course up top was amazing conditions for Scotland at this time of year so super stoked to have gone up.
Oh yeah and Katie and I should never be let on a T-bar together as we will NOT stay in a straight line and we WILL try and run over you as 2 people will tell you as we heard their screams, while we hang onto each other for dear life, although by the last T-Bar of the day we had mastered it and got up with no problems, woooo!!!!
Here's a wee vid I made of the fun home run, first up was at the beginning of the day and next up was later on in the day when there was even less snow on it....
