Upside down!!

For a few days I had got it it my head that I was wanting to go for the rodeo. They had reshaped the jumps in Groove park and Heavenly and the second jump in the bigger line I felt was perfect for doing it on. I hadn't done a rodeo for a couple of years since I did it on dryslope but I know I can do it and it just seemed my body/ mind telling me that it was time and I was ready to try it on snow, I just needed to man the fuck up, haha as being upside down flying off a jump is a scary thought!!

It was getting to the point that I couldn't sleep at night I had to listen to my ipod to put my mind at ease as all I could think about was doing the trick I sent a message to a friend asking for a pep talk when I didn't really need it as I was going to do it anyway as when I get a trick in my head like that I have to do it within a few days or it drives me mad, I guess I just wanted a friendly voice giving me that vote of confidence that I had in myself too and from someone I trust.

I woke up on Monday morning with butterflies and that scary adrenalin running through me, I was on a mission and knew it was the day to go for it and I wouldn't be happy unless I did!! I straight aired grabbed and backside 360 off the jump to get the feel for it and get it in my head what I was about to do, then back to straight airs to get the speed right, not speaking to anyone I was too focused and lost in my own world. Then it was time, I handed my gopro to my friend and that was it no going back, I stood at the top of the jump line real nervous and even as I headed towards the first jump as I'd be going for it off the second I didn't think I was doing it then as the second jump approaches I just went fuck it and went for it, I came round to land my normal way which meant I'd done a rodeo 7, having only done 5's before I was super stoked and was so close to landing it but I landed waaaaay down the landing heavy on the heels which flung me onto my shoulder I broke my collar bone last year so it agrivated it meaning I had to just chill the rest of the day, filmed my friends for a bit helping them get new tricks then headed home and took the next day off riding but it was all worth it as now I know I can do a big trick like that and when my shoulder is actually fully heeled I will go for it again and stomped it for sure!! There is no better feeling than getting a trick you have been thinking about like that just doing it is an achievement in itself :)

Here's the vid of it....
